During this month, we celebrate the 5th anniversary of the launch of the SMOU app. It's a great opportunity to reflect on this journey filled with learnings and challenges, aimed at creating positive experiences in the mobility of people in Barcelona and the Metropolitan Area.

The most significant milestones
February 2019: launch of a new app that integrates various mobility services, the SMOU app. Allows payment for regulated on-street parking using the 'Parking Meter' and provides users with centralized information about mobility: parking, ride-sharing, Bicing, or electric charging points.
July 2019: introduction of 'Parking via app', the ticketless access and payment service for underground parking, facilitating off-street parking to free up space on public roads.
December 2019: 'Endolla Barcelona', the largest public electromobility network in the country, joins the SMOU app to facilitate electric vehicle charging and promote sustainable mobility growth.
July 2020: integration of 'Bicing', Barcelona's bike-sharing service, with new features available to its users.
May 2021: real-time consultation of off-street parking spaces in Barcelona to plan parking needs at the origin of the journey and, therefore, contribute to reducing traffic.
October 2021: mobile notifications in case the Tow Truck has removed or relocated a vehicle.
July 2022: real-time consultation of schedules, stops, and stations for public transport in Barcelona and the metropolitan area.
November 2022: integration of the 'Barcelona Residents' service to park in parking spaces for residents of AREA in Barcelona.
July 2023: inclusion of the 'Taxi' service in an end-to-end mode to offer even more mobility options in a single app.
SMOU keep growing, incorporating new end-to-end services with the aim of improving and facilitating the mobility of people in Barcelona and the Metropolitan Area.
