smou incorporates a new feature that lets users know in advance how likely it is that they will find available bikes and free spaces at Bicing stations.
Until now, the app showed the number of bikes and spaces available in real time, but with this new feature, Bicing users can also find out whether, in the next 15 or 30 minutes, the probability of finding available mechanical or electric bikes and spaces is high, medium or low.
They can then better plan their Bicing journeys, as they can choose which station to go to based on the availability prediction.
How does the forecast work?
- On the smou map, select the station you are interested in.
- Under the current availability information, click on 'Availability forecast'.
- Choose whether you want to see the forecast for 15 or 30 minutes from now.
- You will see if the probability of finding mechanical bikes, electric bikes and free spaces is high, medium or low.
How do I get the availability forecast?
- From the availability history of the Bicing stations.
- The weather situation in real time.
- The programmed routes of the replacement vehicles.
