'Parking meter' on SMOU
The 'Parking meter' is a service that allows you to pay for Blue and Green parking using your mobile phone. Forget about going to the parking meter, pay for parking from your vehicle and only for the exact time you park, without comissions.
Activate the 'Parking meter'
To start using the service:
• Activate it from the side menu, in the ‘Services’ section.
• Register your plate number and a bank card.
How to start a ticket?
- Select the 'Parking meter' icon on the bottom bar of the map.
- Press the 'Start ticket' button from your vehicle.
- Select the parking area, the vehicle you have parked with and press on 'Confirm ticket'.
- Once you have finished your parking, you will only need to press the 'Finish ticket' button.
Don't forget to activate the GPS on your phone so that the app can find your location and you can select the type of zone.
A service available in Barcelona and the Metropolitan Area
SMOU allows you to pay for regulated parking in Barcelona and in 11 other municipalities in the Metropolitan Area with a single app. These are the municipalities where the service is available: Barcelona, Badalona, Castelldefels, Esplugues de Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat, Gavà, l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Montgat, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Sant Joan Despí, Sant Just Desvern, Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Sant Vicenç dels Horts.
Cancel your parking fines
If you have parked incorrectly in Barcelona city and you find a parking fine on your vehicle, you can cancel it through smou. You can do so by clicking on the 'Cancel fine' button that appears when you select the 'Parking meter' service.
Check the forecast of available places
You can check the availability forecast for the Barcelona's Blue area. To do this, click on the clock-shaped button on the right-hand side of the map, indicating your location and estimated time of arrival.
The likelihood of available places will be displayed in 4 different colours: green if there is high availability, yellow if there is medium availability, red if there is low availability or grey if there is no data.
