If you've SMOU notifications enabled, you'll receive a warning on your phone when there're 15 minutes left before the maximum parking time in the regulated area expires. You'll also receive another notification when you've reached the maximum time.

Smou includes a system that predicts the availability of regulated Blue parking spaces of Barcelona in order to help users find on-street parking. All you need to do is select the 'Parking meter' service, click on the clock-shaped button on the right-hand side of the map, indicating your estimated time of arrival. You'll be able to navigate over the map and the likelihood of available places will be displayed in 4 different colours.
Green indicates high availability, orange indicates medium availability and red indicates low availability. No forecast data is available for the areas marked in grey. Grey is for parking areas for which the prediction service is not yet available. These areas will be gradually added to the system.
You will see the charges in one of the two following ways depending on your bank and the type of card used to pay:
1. A single charge on your bank statement for the exact amount corresponding to the time parked.
2. A charge corresponding to the maximum time allowed in the area where you parked (a prepayment carried out by your bank), and then a credit corresponding to the amount of time you did not use.
If you drive or have a labeled zero emissions vehicle by the DGT, in Barcelona you may benefit by a special tax for the regulated parking spaces:
- Blue area, A and B tariffs: €0.00.
- Green area, A and B tariffs: €0.50.
In case of Blue area, when a parking operation starts, a temporary bank charge is made to your account as a pre-authorization. This will be returned in full.
